...ten/pence/short
Marcus, Paul, NolskÚ and Spence first crashed onto the scene nine years ago forming the hard rock outfit “JUMP THE GUN”. The band split in 1997 with all members joining other projects, but reformed last year to become …ten/pence/short.

A change in musical style and a more mature attitude have made a big difference to the look and the sound of the band.

Influences within the band are taken from a wide spectrum, with groups such as Metallica and Nickelback joining the echoes of groups like Creed and even Starsailor.

Long term aims for the band involve much more live work, as well as writing and recording as much as possible. The group have all agreed that fame would be fantastic but it’s the chance to play live music they want the most, and play it they will....

[Go-X]
GO - X] formed 4 years ago under the name 'Elixir' with a different drummer, between 2001 - xmas of 2004 elixir established themselves as a great local band and enjoyed some mild succsess from their first demo - "Demo..1" HOWEVER all that is trivial compared to the future plans for [GO - X] (name had to be changed for legal reasons ... bastards). With new drummer Boo Disson (ex-Odyssey) the band are writing better music than ever before and are spending the month of June in seclusion finishing off mind-blowing material. Expect thousands, nay TENS OF THOUSANDS, of shows in July and early August, and a realease by the end of said month. Exciting times for [GO - X] are on their way so be sure to be at Eddies on June 30th when it all kicks off. (big time)

13 Ways
Band Bio
Selected praise for 13 Ways
“...13 Ways are right up there with the best of local talent. You'd be a fool to miss them!"
Lauren Holden, Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor, Oct. 2005
“...13 Ways - a local band of virtuosos...Already enjoying cult success on University campus, these singer-song-writers nouvelle are taking their mellow vibe to a wider audience..."
Howard Byrom, Lancaster Guardian, March 2005

The story so far… (reviews like that don’t come overnight)

Steve Daffern and Nik Lehto meet up in their university corridor and find out they share similar interests in real life, leisure and music (Manics, old Stereophonics, Supergrass, Ash, Muse etc.= GOOD; Busted, Justin T, Christina A, etc. =BAD). Nik knows his way around a guitar, Steve really knows how to sing, all that is needed is a back line and we’re cooking on gas…

MA in Musicology graduate John Millican (keyboards, rhythm guitar, vocals), Chris “Duracell Bunny” Barnard (drums) and Martin Jones (bass guitar) are found wandering the streets aimlessly and are promptly recruited. Turns out John and Martin also have song writing experience, so we huddle together in a room and throw away the key. Lots of cups of coffee, pints, guitar strings and few weeks of practice later we’ve got a 30min set – padded out with a couple of covers – ready to play our first ever gig in January 2003; 13 Ways has formed. Since then the band has moved from strength to strength. Martin moved on in October 2004 and Adam Neather’s 5-string bass style was found to be a welcome replacement. In the last year, everyone in the band has committed to 13 Ways from a personal and a financial point of view (a significant portion of the band equipment is owned by the band as a whole).

The high song writing output of the band is not reflected in the quantity of our recorded material, we regularly fill 90min gig slots with ease. Also, the high standards that we hold ourselves to means we are constantly revisiting and improving old material. In the last two years, the sound of the band has evolved to something unique: imagine the hard rock edge of Deep Purple meeting Dandy Warhols’ choruses in a vat of boiling Robbie Williams! The objective of our music has always been to deliver a raw personal message in a strong melody, brought forward by outstanding vocal harmony in the context of a powerful rock rhythm section, all neatly wrapped up within today’s listener’s attention span.
New recordings are quickly snapped up by the legions of slavering fans who seem to be there every time we play. In fact, we’ve had to start selling CDs because we kept exceeding our monthly bandwidth limit on the website. This turned out extremely helpful because demo CD sales alone have almost paid off the PA that the band recently spent muchos dineros on… damn 0% interest rates and the fine print.

16 Bronsons
Formed in 1996 at southdowns college nr Portsmouth, we quickly made a name for ourselves on the local and surrounding music scene, we've/our sound has been described as Motorhead/Nirvana but faster, Much faster! we decided to call it a day in 2001 after a huge alcohol induced ruck on stage at the Airballoon venue in Portsmouth.
In the time we were together we played many many gigs around the south supporting some great bands like 'Stiff little fingers, The yo yo's, the jellies, Tampasm' to name a few, we also had gig of the week in the EXPRESS news paper, which was nice. we appeared on a number of compilation albums both local and international, one being for ZIP RECORDS USA.
Its now 2005 and we've decided to get back together and play some gigs, we've got new songs, old songs and we plan to take to the stage real soon and rip this town apart!!!

4ft Pimp are the band that every girl wants to be and every boy wants to be with. This is not the fantasy they set out to make real, however, as failed ice-cream man-turned-musician Greg will tell you. "We just started the band for financial reasons. After Andrew's Cobbling business fell through and my dreams were shattered, we needed to make some cash". And that they did. The Band were saved by Rock n roll and have never looked back.

5 Sadows
5 Sadows were formed on 2003, by Greg,
the band's name was Venus back then, but later for some reasons
we decided to change the name into "5 Sadows".
Greg and Manolis met at school, so they started talking about
forming a band with dark,Heavy, melancholic and atmosferic sound.
Although they did not had a clue, how they're goin' to achieve that.
Manolis happened to know a Drummer Akis and so Akis after
a conversation with Greg and Manolis joins the band,
but the band was missing a Keyboarder...
Manolis happened to know a Keyboarder too!
So he made a call to Kostas. Kostas joins the band at once!
After all, Greg had a friend, Nick, who was a Bassist and joins the band too.
So this is how 5 Sadows became a band...
We used to cover H.I.M. songs basicly, and some other bands,
so we can influence our sound and learn to cooperate as a band.
Later, on the first month of 2007 due to some tragic events
(we miss you "Kostas") the band was ready to fall apart
and Guitarist Manolis had to serve our country,
And so the band was left without Guitar and Keyboards.
Finaly after his military duties Manolis (Guitar) joins the band again,
later Maria, takes her place behind the Keyboards.

What a fantastic year it's been for 9Lies!

It was the year which saw the 'Behind It All' album being released to critical acclaim, with massive radio airplay around the globe, and all without a record company being involved! It was also the year which saw the song 'Blind' being snapped up by Warner Brothers, and 'Behind it All' the title track from the album finding a new home as theme tune to reality tv show 'Our Prisoner' in the USA.

Along Way Home
"Running from the Vancouver Island west coast scene, ‘Along Way Home’ comes with an uncompromising sound that sets them apart from the oversaturated pop-punk genre that most would place them in. Fusing together an extremely dynamic and compelling mix of driving music with eloquent vocals, along way home takes today’s captivating pop hooks and intermixes them with intensity and raw emotion. Playing distinctive music with identifiable messages, working next to a fan base that seems to be growing by the day, and playing shows with such bands as Hot Hot Heat, The Reason, and Ten Second Epic, these four show no reason for anyone to believe the hype is not real.

The group originally came together in mid 2002, and by the end of that year New York based international teen music magazine, “J-14” was hailing the band as, “ The Next Big Thing” by the December issue. After a small line up change, “along way home” was born in January of 2005. The four, having been in successful previous endeavours, began writing music, feeding off their new influences and creating something they erupt into when performing live. After months of show dates and building a budding fan base, ‘awh’ entered the studio for the first time together to contribute to a Vancouver scene compilation disc entitled, “Brodeo”; featuring Vancouver- hometown friends, “daggermouth” and “drakes”. Promotional show dates, and “Battle of the Band’s”, followed the c.d.’s release, which landed the group their first provincial radio interview and single debut in mid 2005. With a song on the radio, and a c.d. in hand, ’awh’ set out independently, and successfully, toured British Columbia and the state of Washington in January 2006.

After coming back home from their tour, the group felt like their was such a positive response towards their music and live set, that they felt recording a full length album would be necessary to show everyone that their a lot more than three songs on a comp disc. The guys drove back to ‘The Hive Studio’ in Vancouver to record their first full length, “something beautiful” in May of 2006. Seven brand new songs, all on their own disc. Not two months went by, and ‘awh’ was back in the same New York teen music magazine “J-14”, stating that “this band is definitely buzz-worthy…get the album.” With the magazine promoting the new album, people still talking about the previous comp disc, and of the successful touring, these four decided they would do it all over again. But this time, bigger. It was one week after the magazine hit shelves promoting ‘along way home’s debut album, that the guys departed on a tour that would take them across British Columbia, Alberta, and into Saskatchewan in the course of over a 3 week span.

Almost a month passes before the four returned back to their hometown, only to realize the tour’s feedback had been far more positive than any previous tour dates, or ever expected. While away, the online plays on their ‘Myspace” page had increased over 10, 000, street team/friend members had augmented by 1000 members, and the emails from fans across the country were piled into over 70 separate storage pages. Each letter filled with inspiring comments, and a consistent desire to hear more from the band. After responding to fans and their questions, ‘awh’ decided that they may need to begin looking for some outside help in scheduling future band events and tours. Previously all tours and shows had been put together and organized by the band solely, responsibly keeping all band business under their supervision. But as the word spread about the band, they understood quickly that outside management may be a way to still keep in touch with their fans, and have the time to create more of the music that has captured their attention."

An Early Sunset
Currently recording at our basic home studio, An early sunset consisting of Tim Brayshaw (Guitar and vocals), Anthony Smith (Bass and vocals)and now Dominic Rudd (Drums). We've been writing music for 2 years or so, and now feel that what we are writing is much more worthy of public release and would love to get it out there. All living in Sheffield, it makes it relatively for us to get together and jam, but when this is not possible we write music whenever we can and join all our ideas together when we are in each others company. But what is best is when we sit there with a clean sheet, clean mind and build a song from the foundations together.

And So I Watch You From Afar
THIS IS OUR MACHINE AND NOTHING CAN STOP IT

The band have been creating a stir of late with their live shows, coming to the attention of Kerrang Magazine and have recently become a firm favourite on BBC Radio 1, receiving nationwide airplay on the Huw Stephens show and have just finished recording a live session for the Rory McConnell show aswell as playing top shows such as Blueprint showcase, Two Step showcases, The Nerve Centre, supporting the likes of 'High on Fire' and '65 Days of Static'.
They headlined their first ever BelFEST appearance on its opening night in October, which lead to them playing the best of BelFEST showcase in the Empire at Christmas generating a lot of good publicity and radio airplay (BBC radio 1, Radio Ulster, Queens radio)
They have just recorded a live session for NVTVs Alternative Ulster magazine special which was aired over Christmas, which prompted an offer from NVTV to make their first music video which will be aired in the coming weeks. ,
And all this since September when the boys re-located to Belfast from the north coast of Antrim. After recording their first self released single ('Mount Kailash') in October, they released their first EP 'THIS IS OUR MACHINE AND NOTHING CAN STOP IT' which was released on 28th March to a full house in Auntie Annies. The guys sold over 100 copies on the launch night and now have the EP available for purchase in HMV. The ball is rolling and they want to keep it that way, whether its gigs, a bit of publicity or even some pointers or advice, it will all be greatly appreciated.

Andy Vargo is a UK based Singer Songwriter and “The Outsider” is the new 13 track album by him, released on Suburban Fox Records.
Burgeoning playwright Henry Smith writes…
“I LOVE THIS RECORD.
It’s an intoxicating infusion of all the sounds I like to hear when I’m harpooned with melancholy.
I think comparisons can be useful; this is Suede meets Scott 4.
I could listen to it in an ice cream parlour or crashing some dainty car!”

Another way of life
"Another Way of Life (A.W.O.L.) is simply the best modern hard rock band on the planet. And thats not hyperbole! These experienced musicians started this group five years ago, putting the past behind them. They cleverly fused various rock elements into a mind-meld of their original material. The groups quality musicianship sets them apart from the typical alt-rock amalgams. Now this rock grinding machine is on the brink of going big time with a financial sponsor and interest from legitimate record companies. The bands new self titled CD out and flying off the shelves, pick one up its surely worth it. The group completed the debut CD at Morrisound Studio with multi-platinum producer Jim Morris engineering and producing the CD. Meanwhile, the groups fan base is burgeoning with sold out shows at various venues. AWOL was pre-warmed up and ready to rock when this power ensemble hit the stage spewing fire like a dragon. This is like a Marine assault force that takes no prisoners. The music is dense and raw but intelligently structured with many different influences at play, fused into the bands hard, bold sound. The group had rapidly made inroads into the big time milieu by making sound business decisions and finding a financial sponsor. Now, record companies are interested in them and they are building a loyal fan base. The group is selling out shows regionally."

In January 2007, four guys met up for a simple jam, not knowing
that from that first meeting it would forge a band and a friendship
of like minded individuals wanting more, who feel that they have
unfinished business within music and have something to prove. It
has resulted in creating music that means something to them.

Currently unsigned and from South Essex. With their own material
the band is going to be pushing to make a name for themselves on

Attitude No1
Their eyes met across a crowded room... No, Paul and Ollie met at a family get together, back just before Xmas 2007. Ollie (Drums) heard some of Pauls (Guitar) work and vice versa and a plan was hatched for World domination, bringing the attitude back to hard rock and the public execution of the man responsible for Emotional Hardcore.... One seriously drunken Jam (Till 11pm) keeping the Polish awake, we decided something was there. (Ollie suggested it was probably wind).... The hunt was on to find someone hot, someone female and someone not afraid to look as sexy as hell on stage. Anne Widdicombe was unavailable so instead Paddlin Paul and Ollie settled for second best. Charlene joined the ranks, her voice is amazing and she has other talents too. No not involving Pingpong balls. She’s hot, she’s bitchin. Looking forward to this watch this space... Or f**k off

Baggage
There is nothing written in the music scriptures that singer/songwriters must be acoustic, and while there are some very talented people doing that, let’s face it – it can all be a bit dull, can’t it?

Baggage certainly benefits from Tom Baines’ power, energy - and a little distortion. The sound brings back memories of early nineties grunge, but with a distinctly modern twist, never once betraying the one man, one guitar, one vocals setup by making it sound anything less than huge.

Battered Men

BATTERED MEN was formed in 2000 out of the desire of its members to produce powerful and melodic contemporary music. Their roots in hard rock and blues have resulted in the polish of classic rock with all the power and emotion of todays music. The bands musical influences span a wide range of styles from the hard edge of Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and AC/DC to the rocking blues of Stevie Ray Vaughn and ZZ Top. That mix results in a listening audience that is drawn into the songs, feeling the emotions and moving with the rhythm. This is smart, diverse music with vocals ranging from stirring to humorous. There's something here for everyone.

When we saw that written on a video box it seemed to summarise the kind of music we were writing. The director of the film was ' Beat ' Takeshi Kitano. We are new, we are different, we are Beat Takeshi.

Better Than Avalon
Formed in late Nov 2006, Better than Avalon take the opinion of wearing their influences on their sleeve. The range of bands go from early 90s Brit-Pop right through to Modern Rock, with stop off points at folky pop-rock, spacey prog, and a smidge of funk to round things off. A meeting of minds between Nik Marden and his work colleagues Rob and Sam lead to a number of Jam sessions before the Christmas period of 2006. Soon ex-Blind Spider Andrew ‘Bandy’ Bushell came on board with lead guitarist josh and bass player Jack following in succession. While initial sessions were fruitful, it was felt that something needed changing with Josh leaving amicably in spring of 2007 to be replaced by Andrews work colleague James Hoskins. The band continued to write and rehearse untill the summer when the time came to take the fruits of there labor to the masses. There first gig was performed in front of a capacity crowed at the Blaise Inn in north Bristol and was received rapturously. This was then followed by other well received gigs towards the tail end of the year. In the early part of 2008 there was a little unrest within the ranks and it was felt that certain members were unhappy. With that Vocalist Sam Ward was asked to leave the band to be replaced with long time friend of the band Kyle Cullen. With this fresh input into the band it was decided to go on temporary hiatus from live shows in order to polish up some of there songs. This resulted in the recording of the bands first E.P tentatively titled 'Now Is Not The Time For Narcolepsy' The band has now returned to the live arena with a handful of well received gigs and have recently finished work on there as yet untitled follow up ep

BlackCat have previously been known as The Basics but when 5 became 4 they were re-invented with a new sound, a fresh view and a new name. When it comes to practice, the band runs a tight schedule, however, this doesn't bother them much as they enjoy it.

Blacklight Project
Rising from the ashes of "Borderline", David Hastings and Chris McAnaney get ready in their promising new band, "Blacklight Project" :
Effortlessly fusing together a range of musical styles, and taking influences from everything from modern indie, new wave punk and grunge to brutal industrial and trance, the band form songs which are energetic, lively, individual while still retaining accessablility to anyone and everyone. :

Clever lyrical hooks, agressive guitar, subtle electronics, strong percussion are all factors which contribute to the Blacklight sound. From "live once more" with its drop tuned riffs and "red shift" a genre defying metal/dance track to "the end of nothing", a rock track with electronic undertones and the hauntng introduction to "echoes" the style of Blacklight Project is as versatile as it is musically adventurous and difficult to catergorise. :

Blatant Fly
In the murky depths of Derry city's foyle river something had been brewing...maybe it was the fish?....maybe it was the plant-life?...maybe it was all the chemicals that "hadn't" been dumped in it by a certain un-named conglomerate, either way it changed the lives of three unsuspecting young lads who had found their homes in the city. One night while travelling unrelated routes along the infamous river; Hyman Roth, Alec Lyndsay and Adam Kerlin found themselves drawn into its murky depths like a "FLY" to a blue light and something happened while they were missing: they MUTATED!! to become "Blatant Fly" a singular entity with three separate manifestations...and they found that when they picked up instruments and played they produced a sound that had the same effect as piping hot honey being poured into the skull cavity

Blue Syndrome
"Blue Syndrome is one of Ireland's most mature sounding young Irish Rock Bands of today. The 4-piece indie/rock band thrive with their energetic performances, catchy lyrics, and simple melodies. Hailing from Swords/Malahide, Dublin, the band began out as a band for hire, playing at party's, weddings and such, but have now entered into 2007 with quite a success, frequently playing around the Dublin City area. Working closely with Sonic Eye Media, the band have gone from strength to strength, standing tall against older more mature bands. "

Colm O'Loughlin, the lead singer, has been greatly influenced by the likes of Glen Hansard of The Frames, Dave Grohl but more significantly, singer/songwriter Mark Geary. Colm's simple folk-like melodies would first seem as though they did not belong in a rock band, but it is this that makes the band different, and it works.

Tom Lamude, founder of the band, with major influences from AC/DC keeps his drumming to a minimum without making it seem like he's not in the band. He lays down the bedrock of each song, and is central to the band's presence.

Bass player, Bobby O'Malley, with his melodic inventive bass lines, is an inspiration to the band's songs. It is that of Iron Maiden that inspire him to go beyond the boundaries of sticking strictly to root notes and creating a melody in itself that bring the songs to life.

And finally, the brainchild behind Blue Syndrome, Stephen O'Loughlin, younger brother to Colm, with his amazing skill on guitar, and subtle backing vocals, he plays a huge role in the band's songwriting. His simple idea's are characterised with his precise playing.

This has been a band for about 2 years, but only recently have actually strated having practice last december 2003 when they recieved a drummer. they have had 2 gigs and the last gig ( january 2005 ) in woodham, essex, gave the band a better reputation.
These guys are not like every other band that you see on SCUZZ, that try to be like the lost prophets, these guys are more like CKY mixed with a bit of Sum 41.

Breakdown
Veteran Pop Rockers - Based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, Breakdown originally formed as a post punk power pop trio in 1978. Having gone their separate ways in 1981 founder members and songwriters Ian Harvey and Bohdan Harasymiw reunited in 2004.
Initially our objective was to record and preserve the material we wrote back then. Influences absorbed over the 20 year+ estrangement started to show, and new material started to flow.

Breaking Belief
It all started with Scott and Jamie looking for a guitarist to form a new band, "a new era". After busy nights searching through guitarists ads trying to find one with a similar taste in music and the dedication and commitment needed to form a band they came across an advert by soon to be guitarist Ross. After practises together everything fell into place and Breaking Belief was formed. After a hard few months learning new songs and getting to know each other the band are now ready to play their first of many gigs to come. Breaking Belief are currently in the middle of writing songs and recording in the studio

Breakout Degree
Breakout Degree formed in the cold mist of January 2006 and was originally known as The Bradley’s, playing a very common style of Indie. With the simplest of ideas, merely joining together just for a jam, (American’s would usually have called us a garage band). In the beginning there we only three of us, Karl was in The Bluebirds and Paul and Olo were in Overture, so I suppose you could have said we didn’t really expect anything to really come of it! As fate would have it Overture and The Bluebirds withered away and became something of a nostalgic memory, the experience was brought with us though. We all became solely concentrated on the band and really saw a great prospect rising from the ashes of the other bands we had previously been in. We, as a band, decided to form properly and indeed changed the name to Breakout Degree after much deliberation over names. Our first gig was with hard-rockers Kid Ego at their unplugged gig with our first set of original songs and a couple of covers. After the gig we decided to get our first originals recorded and it was there at Imp-Hut studios we met our new bassist, Ollie Spring. He was enthusiastic and very keen to play our style of music, which at this point was our own take on cock-rock. He spent a bit of time with the band and played a couple of gigs before departing. So once again we were left as a three-piece and with four pretty important gigs in line, we needed a replacement! We gave a friend of ours; Milo (ex and co-member of Overture) and he agreed to stand in for us on bass. He learned the songs pretty easily and was a great feeling for us to have learnt the songs so quickly. We eventually decided to offer him a place in the band permanently. As a band, we decided to re-vamp our style and the songs we had previously written, still keeping that initial style of cock-rock but in addition of some kick-ass harmonies and crunching riffs. Our earliest song, Blackabarrera, really pushed us forward as a band and became a hit with our following. In recent reviews, Breakout Degree’s sound has been described as “solid”, “swaggering” and “leading into a state of rocking euphoria”. Getting quite a few gigs in York and the Yorkshire area, Breakout Degree are looking to broaden their horizons….
peace x

Brothers Of Craig
The "Brothers Of Craig" began life back in the mid 80s when Jon Gerrard Mcpherson got together with Craig Nugent (guitar),Jons brother Paul Martin Mcpherson (keyboards),Sally Stuart (keyboards) and Raymond Gosland on bass. Soon the line up was complete when Lawrie Kennedy (drums) joined the band. The band played the Scottish circuit over the years and recorded a demo at the "Slaughterhouse Studios " Driffield. The three songs "Still Alive , Just One Of Those Days and The Other Side Of The Story" were engineered and produced by "Colin Richardson" who now produces albums for bands such as " Napalm Death , Slipknot , Bullet For My Valentine ,Trivium and Cradle Of Filth , to name but a few. Just One Of Those Days was to become the B-side Of the Brothers first single "Tossing And Turning" Released on the bands "Brotherhood label. The single reached the Indie charts , and made the band enough money to finance the recording and release of the 12" single "The Colour Of Heaven" The band had now had a change of personel,Raymond and Craig had to leave the band due to work commitments and were replaced briefly by Stephen Latta on bass and Ross Thom on guitar, but neither really fitted in . Eventually Alan Kane "bass" and Peter Mcfarlane "guitar" joined , and the band was complete. The band again travelled to Yorkshire to record at "The Slaughterhouse Studios" and recorded "The Colour Of Heaven" which was engineered and produced by "Steve Harris"who has since Produced and mixed for the likes of , U2 ,Kula Shaker , The Automatic and The Kaiser Chiefs. The band also recorded "This Song Is Over" and "I Wonder Why" both again engineered and produced by "Colin Richardson" The single was released with the inclusion of the song "Bridge Of Sighs" which was recorded at "Sunset Studios" Paisley. The song was engineered and produced by Davie Carlton. Unfortunately very few singles reached the shops , as the distribution company went into liquidation and most of the singles were lost due to red tape . Its only now that these singles are being sold on various internet shops. The band broke up in the early 90s , and Jon , Lawrie and Alan went on to play in other bands. The band had made many recordings through the years , and have decided to release their catalogue of songs on a double CD. This came about after some excellent feedback to the songs on the bands newly made myspace site. Record companies from both America and Europe have been showing keen interest. The band are now back together preparing to record and play live again. Jon , Lawrie , Alan , Peter and Paul have been joined by J.V. Mcpherson on Guitar

BRUTAL DELUXE
BRUTAL DELUXE
Formed in 1997, BRUTAL DELUXE quickly gained recognition for taking to the stage barefooted, bedecked in their tribalistic warpaint and pounding their audience into submission with their dynamic live performance. They were signed in 1999 to Dream Catcher records and released their debut album "Divine Head" in early 2000.It received wide critical acclaim and the band was hailed as a great British hope.
The band toured through 2000 with the likes of Raging Speedhorn,Kill II This and Napalm Death and received great reviews...the future looked secure. Things however, didn’t quite go to plan.
BRUTAL DELUXE started 2001 with a headline tour through the UK, culminating in a filmed live show for MTV2 in London. Just prior to this show the band suffered a serious blow when all their equipment was stolen. This brought to a head strained relationships in the band, the end result being the departure of bassist, Toad.
New blood was soon found and the band managed to move forward with the help of Marshall amplification and Richmo custom drums. They performed to 12,000 people at the Bulldog bash with The Wildhearts and Feeder and continued to tour through 2001. The band then recorded their second album in 2002; "Mistah Kurz...he dead". The album received good reviews but through lack of promotion it hardly made it to the shops. Disenchanted, the band split from Dream Catcher records and decided to take stock, rally the troops and basically travel the world.
BRUTAL DELUXE's approach is one of extreme dynamics. One minute gently stroking your cheek, the next kicking you squarely in the nuts. They lull the audience with passages of melancholic quiet and then explode in your face like John Holmes! .....Brutal and yet, somehow...deluxe.
BRUTAL DELUXE have now returned with renewed vigour and new tracks recorded at the band's own studio.T
