Jail - "Riot at the Health Club"
Reader! Are you the type of loser who is lamenting the demise of Careless Talk Costs Lives? Do you think the best kind of bands are those who sell fuck all records therefore making you feel superior to your peers? Are you of the opinion that PJ Harvey is the only woman in the world who can "understand you"? Do you wear a duffel coat? Then Jail are for you! Billericay's finest sound like a pissed up Graham Coxon, Mark E Smith and laughing boy Bernard Summer collectively urinating on a 4-track recorder with the record button on. If this were anywhere else, I would slate it but this is Essex and this can only be encouraged. Godspeed yee Jail….

Jamelia: See it in a Boys Eyes
At last, a representative worthy of channelling some British credibility into a genre dominated by those darn yanks. Jamelia keeps up her prolific form with her single See it in a Boys Eyes. And it shouldn’t be prone to disappoint her newly acquired fan base after the superb smash hit Superstar as this time round the song is much more of a slower affair but by no means laboured. A down beat type of R n’ B tune with a haunting chorus and a nice big production to boot, much to my liking, (even if the piano and strings are a bit Moby on the chorus). In a chart music sort of a way, the girls’ got soul.

J.GAMBLES

Not in to the British Hip Hop scene as I would like I am trying to be as kind as I can to J.Gambles. J.Gambles is an up-and-coming British Hip Hop artist from South London. With Shock N Awe Records behind the artist we think he has a nice healthy future.

The first track on his CD is what I once upon a time would have described as gangster rap, but probably totally off the mark with that one so I do apologise. After listing to the tracks in further detail there is a lot more to offer than many mainstream artists. Nicely produced and packaged J.Gambles is certainly worth a listen to if you are in to this style of music. His promotional mix tape has sold over 15,000 copies so something right is certainly going on. We want you to go out, get the album and find out what’s being produced. Check out the record label website to find out all the latest.

Jon Chapman

Nick Drake style production, meets Led Zeppelin's slower songs with strings, acoustic guitars and harmonies proves to be nice listening. Very passionate about his music Jon's CD is definitely worth a listen. Not sure if he has uploaded to our MP3 player, but check him out on his website. His music is seriously mellow, and nicely produced.
