Noble Savage, The Adelphi, Preston, Saturday 10th December 2005 With a lead singer with all the style of Brendan Flowers, a voice not dissimilar to Morrisey and a little bit of Jaggers swagger, Noble Savage couldn’t really go wrong. Danny Boy rules the stage like he was born to be in a band. But then he was by no means left to carry the group. When the rest of your bandmates sound as professional as a group who’ve been performing together for years, you’re free to concentrate on being a showman. With the right mix of original songs and genius cover versions the band had the crowd’s attention from start to finish. Love Punk and Postas Valias Ma Galias could easily be released as singles whilst the crowd-pleaser covers of The Only Ones’ ˜Another Girl Another Planet’ and the Libertines ‘Don’t look back into the Sun’ fitted nicely with the bands eclectic style. Their own music is a mixture of old and new styles with all the punk-ness of a Joey Ramone classic with the contemporary coolness of the Killers and the Libertines. Lyrically the songs are political, bold and amusing and it is clear to see the influence Joe Strummer and The Clash have had on the band. There are some unsigned bands who should keep trying, there are some who should really call it a day and then there are some who, if there is any justice in the music world, should not be unsigned for long. Noble Savage are definitely the latter.

Now I'm Lost
Don't be fooled by the name. Now I'm Lost might sound like a gay-ass, indie schmindie K Records 'artist' but it is in fact the name of an enigmatic artist/band/project who have made one of the most exciting pieces of ROCK to have graced the offices here at essexuncovered towers. Coming on like Andrew WK on downers arse fucking The Rapture's 'House of the Jealous Lover', Now I'm Lost deliver Neanderthal, cranium crunching 4/4 drums, shards of processed feedback and the kind of desperate, 200 Marlborough- a-day vocal that can only be summoned by those who live in Canvey Island. Genius doesn't even come close…. Contact: nowimlost_music@hotmail.com

Nahui

Solo project by Luca Giancotti going since 2000 brings us a mature sounding home recording. Rock based but no heavier than a rocking Pearl Jam track, for a home production Nahui is definitely worth a listen to.

NinePages

A band with a serious sound as far as their production and music quality goes. Very powerful vocally and musically. If you are in to the hard rock, dare I say metal vibe then take a listen to these guys. Check out their site and look out for one of their gigs.

A big sound and a good sound. Listen out for them.

Noisy Toyz

Big feedback into some very hard sounding metal. Liking it so far! Luckily the quality of this music is bigger and better than their packaging!

Back in the day I would have gone out and bought music this hard. Very powerful and very nice production. With a Sepultura sounding production/ vibe these guys have a lot to offer. Keep an eye out for them.
